Overview

Fresh Root is my capstone project, designed to be more than just a plant delivery service. It’s a personalized experience that helps you find the perfect plants based on your lifestyle, room conditions, and goals.

Problem

Many people, especially beginners, enjoy having houseplants to make their space feel more lively and welcoming. However, taking care of plants can be confusing and hard to keep up with, especially without the right guidance.

Solution

I designed an app that helps beginners and plant lovers learn how to care for their plants . The app makes plant care simple, fun, and less overwhelming and encouraging more people to bring greenery into their lives.

Desk Research

Plants in the Office Environment

Post-COVID-19, many of them like to continue working at home, at least for part of their working hours. Studies have proven that houseplants improve concentration and productivity (by up to 15%), reduce stress levels, and boost your mood

Houseplants and Mental Health

When you spend time with indoor plants, it actually helps calm you down and makes you feel happier. This happens because it suppresses the part of your nervous system that deals with stress and lowers your blood pressure.

I chose to interview my friends, who are college students and office workers.
